Local installation

Upstream install and restore

Install presets bundled with the upstream project, verify the result, and keep a restore path ready.
CDP safety

Connect only to the local loopback address and close the CDP injection session when finished.

Package boundary

The commands below install the upstream injector and its bundled presets. They do not import ZIPs downloaded or exported from this site.

macOS

The installer validates and uses Codex's bundled Node runtime.

  1. Clone the upstream repository and run its checks.
  2. Install without launching, then switch to a reviewed preset.
  3. The command below activates preset-romantic-rose; other gallery source packages are not imported.

Restore original Codex

Run the generated “Codex Dream Skin - Restore.command” desktop launcher. Restore closes the injector and CDP session before returning Codex to its original appearance.
